Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ReelMetrics during the invite-only public alpha. Please read them carefully before using the service.

Last updated: 2026-05-06

1. Service Description

ReelMetrics is an invite-only alpha service that analyzes screenplays and provides decision-oriented reports to help development teams evaluate story fit, market alignment, and development risk. The service is provided "as is" during the alpha period and may change or be discontinued without notice.

2. Alpha Participation

Access to ReelMetrics during the alpha is by invitation only. You must have a valid invite token to create an account. We reserve the right to revoke access at any time for any reason, including but not limited to misuse, abuse, or termination of the alpha program.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Use the service only for its intended purpose — evaluating screenplays you own or have rights to analyze
  • Not submit content that is illegal, infringing, or violates any third-party rights
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or abuse the service

4. Screenplay Confidentiality

ReelMetrics treats all submitted screenplays as confidential. Your screenplay content is used solely for the purpose of generating the analysis report and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., AI analysis providers). We do not sell or license your screenplay content. Access to your content is restricted to ReelMetrics personnel and authorized AI processing systems under confidentiality obligations.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the screenplays you submit. By using ReelMetrics, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your screenplay for the sole purpose of providing the analysis service. The ReelMetrics platform, including all software, reports, and analytical methods, is the intellectual property of ReelMetrics and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the platform or reports beyond personal use for the evaluated screenplay.

6. Limitation of Liability

THE REELMETRICS SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REELMETRICS AND ITS AFFILIATES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

REELMETRICS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU (IF ANY) FOR ACCESS TO THE ALPHA.

7. Data Handling and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of personal data are governed by our separate Privacy Policy. By using ReelMetrics, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Services

ReelMetrics uses third-party services to provide certain functionality, including AI analysis (OpenRouter), movie metadata (OMDB, TMDB), and cloud storage. These services have their own terms of use and privacy policies. ReelMetrics is not responsible for the actions or policies of these third parties.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without cause. You may terminate your account by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10 shall survive termination.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through the service or via email. Continued use of the service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.
