About ReelMetrics

Structured analysis for screenplay decisions.

ReelMetrics analyzes a screenplay and returns a structured report that helps development teams and producers evaluate story fit, market alignment, and development risk. The alpha is invite-only and script-first.

What ReelMetrics Does

Decision support, not writing assistance.

ReelMetrics is not a writing tool and not an AI generator. It is an evaluation tool — it reads the screenplay you submit and returns a report that helps answer the question: should we invest more development time in this?

The analysis compares your screenplay against real film patterns — story structure, audience signals, and market comparables — and returns findings that are reviewed by a human before release. The output is a decision-oriented report, not raw machine output.

During alpha, every report is reviewed before it reaches you. ReelMetrics does not generate instant automated verdicts.

The evaluation methodology behind ReelMetrics was developed by Traci Hainsworth, shaped through years of practical industry experience across major film productions and development environments. That grounding is what distinguishes a structured, decision-oriented report from a generic automated output.

How It Works

Three steps from script to report.

01

Submit your screenplay

Invited users upload a screenplay through the secure alpha app. Submissions are handled with confidentiality and do not leave your control without your knowledge.

02

ReelMetrics analyzes it

The platform breaks the screenplay into measurable story signals and compares them against real film patterns — structure, pacing, audience alignment, and market comparables.

03

Receive a reviewed report

During alpha, every report is reviewed before release. You receive a structured, decision-oriented analysis — not raw machine output or a generic critique.

What You Receive

A report built for real development decisions.

Every analysis produces a structured report covering the signals most useful for packaging, evaluation, and development decisions.

Story Structure

Act shape, pacing, turning points, and structural risk flags across the screenplay.

Audience Alignment

How the screenplay aligns with defined audience patterns and genre conventions.

Comparable Titles

Closest real-film comparables based on story signals, not just logline similarity.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Specific elements that work well and specific areas that carry development risk.

Risk Flags

Structural, commercial, and audience-alignment risks worth addressing before packaging.

Alpha Access

What alpha means and what to expect.

ReelMetrics is in public alpha. Access is limited deliberately so every report can be operated carefully and every submission handled with the attention it deserves.

  • Invite-only.  Access is approved individually. There is no open signup. You request access and Mike reviews fit before sending an invite.
  • Limited cohort.  The alpha keeps the submission load small so feedback stays high quality and turnaround stays manageable.
  • Script-first.  The public alpha focuses entirely on screenplay analysis. Trailer analysis is not part of the alpha offering.
  • Human-reviewed reports.  Every report is reviewed before it reaches you. Alpha reports are not instant self-serve output.
  • Not instant.  The intake and review process is deliberate. Expect a few days for report delivery, not minutes.
  • No pricing yet.  Alpha access is free for invited participants. There is no subscription or per-report charge during the alpha period.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

How do I request access?

Send an email to [email protected] with a brief note about your work and what you are evaluating. Tell us your role and the kind of projects you work on. Access is approved for serious development use.

What happens after I request access?

Mike reviews each request individually. If there is a fit, you will receive an invite to the alpha app. The alpha cohort is kept small, so not every request results in an immediate invitation.

Is my screenplay kept confidential?

Yes. Your submission is used only to produce your report and is not shared with other users, third parties, or used to train models. During alpha, submissions are handled by the system and reviewed by ReelMetrics staff only.

How long does it take to receive a report?

During alpha, expect a few business days between submission and report delivery. Reports are reviewed before release, so turnaround is not instant. We will communicate with you if anything is delayed.

What format does my screenplay need to be in?

Standard screenplay format — the alpha app accepts PDF uploads of properly formatted screenplays. Feature-length scripts work best. Very short treatments or outlines are not suitable for the current analysis.

Can I see a sample report before submitting?

Yes. Open the sample report preview to see the report structure, comparable titles, and summary scores before you request access. The preview is linked from the homepage and lives at static/sample_report.html.

Is this a replacement for human coverage or script notes?

No. ReelMetrics is a supplemental analytical tool, not a replacement for a reader, script editor, or story consultant. It surfaces structural and market signals — the kind of data that complements a human read, not the kind that replaces creative judgment.

What is the long-term plan?

Alpha is the starting point. The goal is to build a reliable, trusted evaluation layer that production companies, independent producers, and script consultants can depend on for serious development decisions. Pricing, subscriptions, and a broader product offering will come after the alpha workflow is stable.
